How easy is it to replace a bent or damaged derailleur hanger?Updated a month ago

775 AM

Replacing your derailleur hanger is simple! Your Bonnell 775 AM uses a UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger) with an M12*1 thread size, which means you can swap it out with any compatible UDH—no need for a brand-specific part.

Steps to Replace:

  1. Remove the rear wheel for easier access.
  2. Unscrew the damaged hanger from the frame.
  3. Install the new UDH hanger, making sure it aligns properly.
  4. Reattach the rear wheel and check shifting adjustments if needed.

With the right part on hand, you’ll be back on the trail in no time.

775 MX

Swapping out your 775MX chain tensioner is straightforward! While the MX also comes with a UDH, the bike’s construction makes it unlikely you’ll ever have an issue with it. The chain tensioner, however, is more exposed and could take a hit—but even then, it’s an easy fix.

Steps to Replace:

  1. Disconnect the chain at the master link.
  2. Remove the damaged chain tensioner unit.
  3. Install the new chain tensioner, ensuring proper alignment.
  4. Reconnect the chain using the master link.

If it ever comes up, a quick swap will have you back on the trail in no time.
